Hugs and benefits

Is cuddling or hugging needed for our well-being?

It is a natural part of our  makeup to help us  survive and thrive. A basic need fueled by affection, feeling good about being around somebody or even by loneliness.

Conscious Cuddling strengthens our sense of belonging and it is something we can strongly miss when we feel we are alone, estranged, grieving or single. Why?

The brain is hardwired by a hormone to get support from others and even self support.

Cuddling stimulates the production of the hormone oxytocin. When this hormone goes up,  we tend to feel closer, more love, and comfort. the feeling of empathy and trust may increase.

Cuddling can deepen emotional bonds

Conscious Cuddling or hugging if done with a loving heart:

*Creates a comfortable the experience of support. Like the old expression “I’ve got your back.” This is the physical expression of that caring.

*Conscious Cuddling buildings trust and trust is the key to a healthy relationship. ‘

 Gives yourself a hug

Remember?

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? “

When you feel lonely, left out, sick or grieving  for a lost loved one or even a job pick yourself up by going to the mirror:

Beautiful Girl Looking At A Hand Mirror And Smiling

  1.  Wrap your arms around your chest so each hand holds the opposite arm and take 3 deep belly breaths.

  2.  Then look yourself in the eyes in the mirror and repeat “I am funny (make a funny face),  I am so loveable just look at the light in my eyes.”

    Smile

    please!

  3. Give yourself a big kiss from the light of the Universe right into the center of your hands and then place your overflowing hands of light over your heart and breathe in that eternal love and hugs from the ultimate Lover on all.

  4. Repeat when you need a boost and relax and breath the light in with gratitude for never being alone or without hugs and kisses.

Hugging  takes away  stress and pain

Stress is the most talked about cause of illness and the most unrecognized condition causing most of the illness we know of today.

Remember when you needed someone to kiss and hug you when you’d got hurt or lost?

Why does a good dose of hugging and snuggly actually make a physical pain disappear or, at least, make it a lot more tolerable? It seems that when the brain is focused on pain the cortisol levels rise along with the pain. When in pain and we get hugged or even listen to soothing music the oxytocin  levels rise, the pain decreases and we calm down.

Your immune system and sleep improve

when you cuddle and  hugging

It is good for all ages.   Dr Shara BA Cohen staying calm, being optimistic, expressing our feelings and having close loving supportive relationships can boost our immune systems and to maintain good health.

And cuddling doesn’t cost us a penny!. We just need to make cuddling happen!

When you  feel calmer and “hugged”, your brain can relax so your quality and depth of sleep improve. The release of oxytocin in our bodies results in us feeling calmer, tranquil and loving, which induces sleepiness.

Increase the hugging to decrease

Hug yourself,  a loved one, pet or teddy or even your pillow can help to deepen your sleep.

Feel good about the light and love that is you.

Now put your arms around your chest and give yourself a loving hug.

Give thanks for being able to hug.

Now everyone give the world a big hug and thanks for supporting us all.

The science behind a hug is simple, but its energy is deeply felt. The brain quiets, the heart opens and warmth and understanding unite those hugging.
